Beginning in 2027, Louisville Classical Academy will partner with American GOAL, a new federal tax credit program that lets you choose how some of your federal tax dollars are spent. If you give up to $1,700 per taxpayer to American GOAL and designate LCA, you will receive the full value of that gift back as a federal tax credit, as long as you owe at least that much in federal income tax. This is a remarkable and unusual opportunity caused by changes in the tax law. Almost all taxpayers are eligible to make this contribution at no cost, and we would be grateful if you selected LCA as the school you are partnering with.

How the Credit Works

  • Individual taxpayers will receive a 100% federal income tax credit for contributions to American GOAL designating LCA.

  • There is a limit of $1,700 that can be contributed for a tax credit per taxpayer per year (up to $3,400 for married couples).

  • The tax credit is available to taxpayers in all 50 states, so grandparents, alumni, and friends of the school who live outside Kentucky can give, too.

  • There is no national aggregate cap on total contributions.

Tax credits are different from tax deductions, which is why this is such a unique opportunity for both you and LCA. A $1,700 deduction might save you a few hundred dollars in taxes, depending on your tax bracket and whether you itemize deductions. A $1,700 tax credit saves you the full $1,700. How to Take Part

Step 1: Make Your Pledge

Complete the 2027 American GOAL Pledge Form at americangoal.org between January 1st and December 31st, 2027, and select Louisville Classical Academy from the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Make Your Payment

Pay American GOAL by check, ACH transfer, or credit card by December 31st, 2027.

Step 3: Take the Credit

American GOAL will send you a tax receipt for claiming the credit when you file your 2027 tax return in 2028. American GOAL will use your gift to fund scholarships for LCA students, offsetting the cost of tuition and helping more students who would otherwise not be able to attend.

Who the Scholarships Serve

American GOAL scholarships go to Kentucky students from households earning up to 300% of their area's median income, including families already enrolled at LCA. LCA will select students on financial aid for these scholarships on the basis of demonstrated need, and American GOAL will confirm each family's eligibility. LCA families can apply once American GOAL opens its scholarship portal in the coming months. We will share access to the portal during the financial aid process.
