Admissions Process

Our admissions process is designed to ensure prospective students are equipped to succeed at Louisville Classical Academy. The process typically begins with a tour of the school or by attending an open house. Following that, interested families should submit an application, and a shadow day will then be scheduled for your student. Assessments to gauge placement usually take place during a shadow day, but can be scheduled separately if needed. Contact us with any questions, and our director of admissions can guide you through the process.

5 Reasons to Choose LCA

INSPIRED CURRICULUM

Our classical liberal arts curriculum builds on the timeless tools of mathematics, enduring literature, science, global studies, fine arts and philosophy. Your first-grader will come home excited to teach you about Greek mythology, and your fifth-grader will be able to share how crystals are created. LCA offers drama, art, and daily recess for all students.

SHARED INQUIRY

We teach students how to think. Your child will do more than simply learn facts; they will develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. You won’t find desks at LCA – our students learn around common tables to facilitate discussion-based learning. This commitment to shared inquiry starts in Kindergarten and continues through graduation.

SMALL CLASS SIZES

Our classes are small by design, so students can receive individual attention and creative learning opportunities in the classroom. We welcome students of all faiths and philosophies, and every student is empowered to contribute meaningfully to the LCA community.

LIFELONG LEARNING

LCA students develop valuable skills that help them create lives of meaning and purpose – both at LCA and beyond our walls. Your student will foster persistence, listening with empathy, communicating with precisions, thinking flexibility, and taking responsible risks, and apply these skills to their daily lives.

COMMITMENT TO AFFORDABLE TUITION

We know private education is a large financial commitment for our families, and LCA keeps annual tuition to nearly half the rate of other private schools in the city. This allows families of all socioeconomic levels to access Louisville’s most inspired education for their children.
