Head of School - Greg Markowitz

Greg Markowitz is serving his fifth year as the head of school at Louisville Classical Academy.

He holds an MA in the liberal arts from St. John’s College and a BA in economics from Middlebury College.

Greg has nine years of teaching experience from classical schools in Kentucky, Texas, and Maryland. He has taught several subjects (English, history, Latin, mathematics, philosophy, and physical education) to students from 2nd-12th grade.

Greg is deeply invested in LCA’s vision for a secular, rigorous classical education available to all students. He believes that the traditional method of classical education (intensive reading and mathematics, Latin language immersion, minimal usage of technology, and small classes - all with the goal of instilling a wide-ranging love of learning) is still the very best way to help students navigate the complexities of modern life.
