Kristan Milam is a native Louisvillian. She obtained a BS in Biology from the University of Kentucky and then completed her medical degree at the University of Louisville. She served as a faculty member in the Department of Medicine at UofL from 2011-2021, where she taught medical students and residents in internal medicine and practiced general internal medicine. Having always been drawn to teaching, Kristan’s academic focus was on curriculum development and teaching at all levels of medical education.
Kristan’s interest in classical education developed soon after she enrolled her son as a first grader at LCA in 2018. While initially attracted by LCA’s small class sizes and limited use of technology, Kristan has since become an impassioned advocate for the breadth of methodologies LCA employs in its delivery of secular classical education. She joined LCA’s Board of Directors in 2020 and has been dedicated to preserving the school's mission as well as facilitating its ongoing development. As Associate Head of School, Kristan looks forward to making further contributions to LCA's growth and continued educational excellence.
